Pete Hawkins focuses his practice on both commercial litigation and intellectual property matters.
He has tried jury cases to verdict in both federal and state court, and has experience in all aspects of trial and appellate practice. Pete has argued numerous pre- and post-trial motions in venues throughout the United States.Pete’s intellectual property practice encompasses a wide variety of technologies, including medical devices, oil and gas refining, semiconductor memory, telecommunications, diesel engines, and wireless devices. Pete has experience litigating patent, trademark, and trade secret cases, as well as providing patent validity and infringement analyses for both opinion and due diligence matters.In his spare time, Pete does his best to keep up with his three young children. He enjoys exploring the numerous restaurants and craft breweries Chicago has to offer. Because of that, Pete also attempts to enjoy running.
Education
Pete received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2006 and graduated cum laude.
He received his B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003 and graduated with honors.
